Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager - 30k-35k plus car, 25% bonus, pension, healthcare etc. This is a home based role based in the Midlands or the North of England. Working for a leading European manufacturer of high quality corrugated/carton board packaging. The role is focused on the generation of new business across various sectors within the packaging sector.

The Company

This manufacturer of high quality packaging solutions dominates its' share of the market it services and boasts a pan-European infrastructure providing packaging solutions to most world class sectors. With constant investment and innovation, the UK business is highly profitable with an outstanding product range that services most markets and has a diverse customer base. This division is based from a modern production facility and is very much visible within the group. The company now requires an energetic, ambitious and passionate Business Development Manager to join the business based in the above geographical area.

The Role

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be working in a pure new business capacity targeting companies across various sectors across the Midlands and the North of England. You will be interacting and working with the in-house telesales function looking at new leads and new areas of potential business opportunities as well as previous companies that the company used to do business with. Targeting both small businesses and major brands, you will be focused on finding new opportunities and winning new business in what is very much a sales role. Any business won will be passed on to the Key Account Managers. Even though this is an autonomous role you will work closely with the site and have a strong support function that will enable you to develop profitable new business. Due to the profile of the site and the nature of the role then this position will be visible to senior management within the group thus your success will be recognised, rewarded and would lead to being fast tracked within the group. The Applicant

You will be a tenacious, driven and resilient sales person who not only has an excellent track record in winning new business but who also has the passion and want to continue in a role like this. The ideal candidate will have been successful in developing business within the packaging sector (any product area will suffice) and any exposure to a commodity sell would be an advantage. You will have the ability to operate with both small businesses and blue chip companies alike and will have gravitas and credibility in front of customers. Organised, focused and hungry, you will enjoy the 'buzz' of winning new business. Comfortable in an autonomous role, you will also enjoy interacting with the internal team and working closely with the technical department. Success in this role will open many doors within the business in what is an important role.
