We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of English on a full time and permanent basis.
You will work with young people within our school in Devon near Buckfastleigh, who can often display challenging behaviour. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills and an understanding of the issues associated with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. Ideally you will have the personality and determination to support children and young people aged 10 to 16 to re-engage with education (the ability level of students generally ranges across KS2 and KS3).
Key skills required
Must have QTS - essential
Experience in working with SEN essential
Experience in working with EBD essential
To possess the ability to work well with a small team - essential
To be self-motivated - essential
Experience of teaching throughout KS3 and KS4 - essential
Experience of teaching Post 16 - desirable
Experience of working towards GCSE level - desirable
Due to continuing success the school has recently increased the number of students on roll. The school provides GCSE, Entry level certificates, Adult Literacy and Numeracy, and BTECs in Hospitality and Catering, ICT, Construction, Land based studies, Hair & Beauty, Arts and Media & Health & Social Care. Other education provided includes First Aid St John Ambulance Outdoor Education Kayaking 1 & 2 star awards.
