Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer to promote ownership and accountability for quality issues within manufacturing. This is a temporary position for a period of 6-12 months. Reporting to the Quality Manager you will lead improvement teams to reduce non-conformance and improve cell output.
Responsibilities will include:
-Lead continuous improvement activity
-Work with manufacturing cells to generate process capability indexes
-Control the implementation of standard inspection and operation procedures
-Coordinate the improvement activity by adhering to project plans
-Drive cultural and manufacturing changes through in a professional and sympathetic way
-Auditing systems and implementing improvements
-Analysis of customer complaints and implementing appropriate solutions
-Analysis of gauge and process results
-Delivery of quality and measurement techniques & systems training
-Promoting customer awareness and liaising with customers, sub contracts/suppliers
-Production of quality plans and reports using stats as required
-Involvement with day to day quality issues within manufacturing
-Work with all other departments within TCL to ensure best practice is communicated and implemented to ensure that customer requirements are met
Suitable candidates will be qualified to HNC level, preferably with a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship. Knowledge of 1SO9100, FMEA, Electronic Gauging and CMM would be an advantage as would a proven track record in a quality role in an Engineering Environment.
